The Importance of Orthodontics Part – I

Straight smiles provide a boost in confidence, help patients maintain better oral hygiene, and improve bite function and comfort. Crowded and overlapping teeth are harder to clean, making them more susceptible to experience decay. A misaligned or crowded bite can also create imbalance and discomfort.

Orthodontic treatment from Clear Creek Family Dentistry allows patients to regain the comfort and hygiene benefits of a straight smile using minimally invasive appliances.

Reasons For Cleft Lip And Cleft Palate Correction

Cleft lip and cleft palate are highly treatable deformities, though it may take a whole team of different specialists to fully treat the condition. The prognosis for sufferers who receive corrective treatment is excellent: medically, physically, dentally, and emotionally. There are however, a series of risks for those who do not receive corrective treatment:

  • Speech — Children born with cleft deformity are likely to experience speech problems unless treatment is sought. Speech problems are detrimental to a child’s social and emotional development.

Home Care Part – I

A beautiful, healthy smile that lasts a lifetime is our ultimate goal when treating patients. Your personal home care plays an important role in achieving that goal. Your personal home care starts by eating balanced meals, reducing the number of snacks you eat, and correctly using the various dental aids that help control the plaque and bacteria that cause dental disease.

Tooth brushing – Brush your teeth at least twice a day (especially before going to bed at night) with an ADA approved soft bristle brush and toothpaste.

Reasonable Lumineers

In addition to traditional veneers, Dr. Singh provides Lumineers in Harker Heights and for patients from neighboring communities. This cosmetic restoration is much like traditional veneers, though made from thinner porcelain shells. Because this restoration is so thin, Dr. Singh is able to trim less of the enamel from the structure of the tooth before placing the restoration, allowing for minimally invasive aesthetic enhancement.

We work with our patients to ensure that cosmetic dental treatment fits within their personal budgets, and provides an affordable option to create beautiful smiles.

What Can I Do To Prevent Bad Breath

  • Practice good oral hygiene — Brush at least twice a day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste and toothbrush. Floss daily to remove food debris and plaque from in between the teeth and under the gumline. Brush or use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue and reach the back areas. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months. If you wear dentures or removable bridges, clean them thoroughly and place them back in your mouth in the morning.
  • See your dentist regularly — Get a check-up and cleaning at least twice a year. If you have or have had periodontal disease, your dentist will recommend more frequent visits.

Braces For Children

Many children are ambivalent about getting braces. On one hand, they like the idea of perfect teeth, but on the other hand, they are nervous about whether the braces will cause pain and discomfort. The good news is that the placement of orthodontic braces is not at all painful, and the end result will be a beautiful straight smile.

Although patients of any age can benefit from orthodontic braces, they tend to work much quicker on pre-teens and teenagers since they are still experiencing jaw growth. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that children should first see an orthodontist around the age of seven-years-old. An orthodontic examination may be beneficial before age seven if facial or oral irregularities are noted.
